Jewellery Edit #1

January 14, 2015

I received two stunning necklaces for my Namesday which I couldn’t resist sharing with you. One of my all time favourite gifts to be given is jewellery because if chosen correctly, it can be timeless, and enjoyed for many years after it has first been received.

I think the photograph doesn’t do this sparkling silver kiss necklace justice, it’s absolutely stunning and the mister did very well to choose it himself. I have trained him well! Quite often he has to put up with me relentlessly scrolling through the discounted jewellery from Jacobs The Jeweller. It’s a beautifully dainty necklace with a single round diamond and I love the simplicity.

Also for my Namesday, my sister gifted me this very unique angled heart necklace that has a mini gold heart within it and floral detailing coming up from the bottom of the heart which is absolutely breathtaking. I don’t usually wear gold but I think the tiny gold heart works beautifully with the rest of the design.

I wasn’t given this ring as a gift, but when out shopping with my friend I spotted this beautifully detailed leaf ring which I think is really pretty and at just £4 I couldn’t not buy it. I’ve painted a coat of clear nail polish on the inside of the ring to prevent it from tarnishing (no one likes green fingers!) and I’m going to be very careful not to wear it when washing my hands etc. so hopefully it will last a while.

I’ve been wearing the necklaces on alternate days and this ring has been glued to my finger since spotting it, so it’s safe to say these are definitely my current jewellery favourites!

I agree so much with Ellie. I cannot explain to you how many times I’ve tried to take photos like this but they never turn out as good, you’re a natural!

that’s such a lovely thing to say, I think natural lighting, a steady hand and manual mode really make the difference. xx

Such gorgeous jewellery!! We have similar taste because I like small, dainty things two with just a little detail. That heart necklace is stunning!!! I had that leaf ring too but unfortunately I wasn’t as careful as you and it tarnished :( I didn’t know about putting clear varnish on the inside of ring, I’ll definitely try it with my latest purchase :)

Love the Heart pendant – My favourite piece is a circular pendant I designed myself and had made for my 40th birthday. The sapphire and diamond in the pendant where from a ring I had inherited from my great Aunt, and my whole family chipped in to pay for getting it made, so it is a very special piece. I am very passionate about jewellery, and I am very lucky that my job is being surrounded by it all the time!

Oh wow, that sounds really very special. It sounds like an item of jewellery that will remain in your family for many years to come. It’s great that your work evolves something you love so much xx
