This post has gone live while I’m away on a weeks break in Athens visiting family. I thought I’d share with you what I’ve packed in my make up bag for the week to give you a little peak into what I like to use on a regular basis. Just incase you are wondering, my owl make up bag is from Primark and cost a very reasonable £3-£4 (I love the design!).
Confession: I always fail to pack lightly when I go on holiday. I like to have options, I don’t want to have to wear the same top twice and therefore I’m always that person moving things around at the last minute to ensure my luggage isn’t overweight and I always end up carrying lots of things in my hand luggage. I’m no better when it comes to make up, I just like to have options, I don’t want to limit myself to one eyeliner or lip gloss. This is me making a conscious effort to pack less cosmetics, and compared to other holidays I don’t think I’ve gone too overboard but I realise that many of you probably manage to get by on a lot less. My reason for packing this much? I like to have all of the make up I use on a daily basis for my everyday look plus a few extras for when I’m dressing up for a night out. I may have decided to swap a few things out at the last minute but here is a pretty accurate representation of what I’ve packed;
Base
Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer Light | Smashbox recently gave away 50 full-size primers to the first 50 people to reach their counters on that day. I managed to snap one up (one of the perks of commuting into work stupidly early) and I’ve been enjoying using it since. Check back for a full review in the next few days.
No7 Stay Perfect Foundation in Warm Ivory | This is my third bottle of this foundation. I was matched in Boots with their Match Made service and Warm Ivory is the perfect shade for my skin. Even if I try a new foundation, this is the one I always come back to.
SEVENTEEN Stay Time Concealer in Fair | I couldn’t go on holiday without this, I like to use a little of this concealer on scarred or blemished areas of my face for extra coverage.
SEVENTEEN Phwoarr Paint | I find this under eye concealer very effective at hiding dark under eye circles and if I have a particularly stubborn spot I sometimes use this for additional coverage.
Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot | Having combination/oily skin and an obsession with not wanting to look oily in the slightest I rely on a good translucent mattifying powder, this is my current favourite but I also like the Rimmel Clear Complexion offering.
No7 Natural Blush Tint Powder in Soft Damson | This is quite a subtle light pink blusher but is easily buildable for going out. I have found that this blusher has excellent wear time.
Eyes and Brows
Revlon Brow Fantasy Pencil & Gel in Dark Brown | This is definitely my favourite brow tool out of all that I have tried, the only downfall to this product is that the lid on the pencil side falls off very easily and I end up with marks inside my make up bag.
Benefit Stay Don’t Stray Eyeshadow Primer in Light/ Medium | I received this in my March Birchbox and I have only used it once or twice so far, I thought taking it on holiday would be the perfect opportunity to use it a bit more.
MUA Eyeshadow Palette Heaven and Earth| I own 2-3 MUA Eyeshadow Palettes and at just £4 they don’t disappoint, I always like to take one away with me to create different looks.
Lord & Berry Kohl-Liner in Black | I like to use this eyeliner along my waterline and have found it both long lasting and easy to apply, this travel-sized sample came in my April Birchbox.
Maybelline Eye Studio Master Smokey in Chocolate | I rarely use the smudger side but it’s a lovely brown shade that I like to use as an alternative to black.
SEVENTEEN Eye Kohl in Slate | On the days where I want my eyeliner to look a tad more subtle I like to use this slate eyeliner.
Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde Waterproof Mascara | I love mascaras, I can’t seem to limit myself to taking just one away with me. I always like to use a waterproof mascara on a night out.
SEVENTEEN Falsifeye HD Mascara | Read why this is my current favourite mascara here.
Rimmel London Wonder’full Mascara | This mascara feels very kind to my lashes, almost like I’m giving them a pamper everytime I use it.
Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara | This mascara coats every single bottom lash effortlessly and I love the packaging.
Lips
Maybelline Colorsensational Elixir Lip Lacquer in Blush Essence | Blush Essence is a lovely light pink lip gloss that I don’t use enough, I’m hoping that by taking it on holiday I’ll use it a bit more.
ModelCo Lip Lacquer in VIVA | VIVA is quite a natural peachy-pink gloss and came as part of my August Birchbox.
Rimmel London Colour Rush Balm in Drive Me Nude | This is my all time favourite lip product and is the perfect pink-brown nude, there was no way I was leaving it behind.
Tools
Beautyblender | I’m still loving my Beautyblender, you can check out my full review here.
Real Techniques Powder Brush | This brush is the perfect size for applying face powder all over, it does exactly what it says on the tin.
Ecotools Blush Brush | I can’t fault this blusher brush, it is good quality and great value for money.
