Thursdays seem to have turned into nail post days! This week I am continuing to trial the MUA Peel Off Polish base coat and so far I am really impressed with this £1.99 polish, I don’t want to give too much away as the review will follow very soon I promise! I used the Peel Off Base Coat on my third finger on both hands and the Sally Hensen Advanced Hard as Nails base coat on all my other fingers.
Next I gave each finger 3 coats of Orly Charged Up which is a medium purple shade. Although quite a deep shade it is still a fairly bright purple. I found 2 coats wasn’t quite enough for a streak-free finish so I applied 3 coats to ensure an opaque look. I really like the handle of the Orly polishes – I always find them so easy to grip in order to paint my nails.
Both the Essence Bejeweled and Seche Vite Dry Fast top coat are new to my collection. I applied Essence Bejeweled to my third finger on both hands and to be honest I didn’t enjoy applying this. I found it gloopy and it didn’t spread evenly at all. I’m also not keen on how it actually looks on top of the the Orly Charged Up, I wasn’t expecting this glitter to be quite so opaque, I reckon Essence Bejeweled will look much better on its own rather than on top of a colour polish. I have mixed feelings about this polish, have you been impressed with Essence nail products you’ve tried? Which are your favourites?
I ordered the Seche Vite Dry Fast top coat from Amazon about a week ago. I was so excited to try this as I have heard such good things about this top coat. When my little package landed, I discovered that I had received a “damaged” item (at least that is what the seller called it). The bottle contained less than a third of the polish and as soon as I notified the seller they refunded the full purchase price no questions asked. However all is not lost as I still have enough top coat to trial at least a few times. My first impressions are positive – this Seche Vite top coat is quite thick upon application but this doesn’t make it too difficult to apply. I am really pleased how quickly my polish dries and it certainly adds extra shine.

That is a killer shade of purple! I don’t think I’ve ever seen that brand of polish here in Australia, but I will definitely keep my eye out for a similar shade so I can obsess over how pretty it is!
