Earlier in October I spent a week in Athens. We had some time for sightseeing so we visited Syntagma Square, the National Gardens of Athens, stopped off for some delicious roasted chestnuts and explored Plaka village. It’s been a long time since I visited Athens so it was lovely to see the sights. The weather was glorious too. I’ll share more photos from my visit in a second post, I couldn’t resist taking like a thousand photos of the Acropolis.

Last weekend I visited Brighton with my parents so we could spend some time with my sister who recently moved to start her first year at Sussex University. We spent Saturday in the city centre, mooching around the shops, stopping for lunch and coffee (read: hot chocolates/ milkshakes as I don’t drink coffee) in various little cafes. It was raining until mid-afternoon, but once the weather brightened up we headed to the sea front and walked along the beach. I’d forgotten just how busy Brighton can be, but it was still lovely to wonder.

On the Sunday we explored Brighton Marina which I hadn’t visited before, it was very peaceful in comparison. It was beautifully sunny on the Sunday and it didn’t feel like an Autumn day in the slightest. Overall it was a very relaxing weekend filled with lots of family time and yummy food in a very picturesque location.

Sundays are my favourite day for exploring somewhere new. Stotfold Nature Reserve was our latest adventure. The nature reserve isn’t particularly big but we spent roughly 2 hours ambling along the paths. It was a beautiful and peaceful little outing, it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves (and the wildlife). We fed the ducks, spotted some butterflies and admired the wildflower meadow.
