Earlier this month I booked last minute tickets and visited Crete for a week. Crete will always have a very special place in my heart. It’s such a beautiful Greek island with a lot to see. I spent almost every Summer holiday there until I turned 18 and therefore I have lots of childhood memories. I last visited 3 years ago and the opportunity arose for me to visit again, so I took it.

My family are from a little village called Plaka opposite little island Spinalonga (if you haven’t read The Island by Victoria Hislop I highly recommend it). I spent the week swimming, going for long walks in the early mornings and enjoying the September sunshine along with quality time with my family. It was good to be back.

Last Summer Nick and I visited charming Whitstable for the day and all Summer I’ve been itching to visit the English seaside for some further exploring. A couple of weekends ago we made it to the Suffolk coast and spent a couple of days exploring Aldeburgh, Southwold and Woodbridge. Walks along the seafront hand in hand, children flying kites in the wind, the smell of the sea, the sunshine on our faces..

It’s crazy that we’ve been back from our holiday to Santorini almost 6 weeks. Where has the time gone? I’d be lieing if I said I wasn’t feeling the post holiday blues still. But maybe, just maybe, I’ll be back to Greece sooner then I expected..
