For the past 12 weeks I have been testing 12 budget (under £5) micellar cleansers as part of my My Micellar Cleansing Water series. The idea for this series came to me after writing this post, on the 5 Reasons Why I’ll Always Repurchase The Garnier Micellar Water. It made me realise that I hadn’t actually tried any other micellar waters – but now I’ve put 11 micellar waters to the test I feel ready to revisit the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water.
For the past week I have gone back to using the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water morning and night to remove make up and dirt.
ABOUT THE PRODUCT
The Garniner Micellar Cleansing Water costs £4.99 for 400ml of product but it is regularly on offer at about £3 which is amazing value for money and convenient for everyday use as it goes that bit further. This micellar water is described as a “super efficient and gentle way to cleanse, remove makeup, soothe the feel of skin and hydrate in just one step”.
THE GOOD
This micellar water is housed in a clear bottle with a pink lid and comes with a functional drip feed attachment which works well to regulate the amount of product dispersed.
I need 3-4 large cotton wool pads covered in product to remove my full face of make up and I’ve used less than a fifth of the bottle in 7 days. I know that a full bottle can last me up to 6 weeks, and although that isn’t the claimed 200 uses, I’m still impressed that a bottle lasts me this long as I do wear quite a lot of make up and I like to be thorough with my removal process.
After weeks of not using the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water due to testing the other micellar waters I’m pleased to report that I still find it extremely effective but gentle at removing make up. It doesn’t sting my eyes in the slightest and it doesn’t irritate my skin. It’s also extremely refreshing which I love.
THE BAD
I still don’t really have a bad thing to say about this micellar water, the only comment I do have to make is that I don’t notice it to be hydrating like I did when trialing the Superdrug Vitamin E Micellar Water.
VERDICT
It probably comes as no surprise, I’m still a huge fan of the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water, it ticks all the boxes and its generous size is still a huge bonus for me. That’s not to say that my cleansing water test hasn’t unearthed some other contenders that I wouldn’t repurchase. Next week I’ll be giving a full run down and summary of all 12 micellar waters so check back for that!
