Measuring out the flour, milk and baking powder and cracking the eggs. Whisking the dry ingredients with the wet to make a thick batter whilst heating the frying pan until it’s hot.
Popping a ladle full of mixture into the pan whilst the room fills with a tempting sweet smell as it cooks. A quick flip and a catch. Allowing it time to sizzle and rise on both sides. Repeat.
A generous layer of nutella sandwiched between the two pancakes, with a sprinkling of sliced bananas and strawberries. A dusting of cocoa powder as a final touch. 2 perfectly fluffy American Pancakes. Happiness on a plate.
Did you make pancakes this year? Send me links if you wrote about them, I’d love to see.

Round 2 at the weekend sounds so good! Might have to do the same – turn it into a Pancake Week rather than just 1 day! xx
