The sky was extremely clear last night and I could see the moon perfectly, so I decided to attempt taking some photographs of the moon for the first time. I felt a bit silly standing at the side of the road with my tripod and camera but it was also really peaceful taking photographs in the nighttime without anything around to distract me. I was pleasantly surprised that my little bridge camera (I have the Nikon Coolpix P510) was able to capture this level of detail. I was practically hopping/ skipping/ running back to my flat to review the photographs on my laptop and I am so pleased with the outcome.
I have been experimenting a lot more with manual mode recently and I definitely feel that my photography has improved significantly over the past year or so.

WOW such an amazing shot! I have tried to photograph the moon and it looked great when I looked back on the camera but when loaded on computer it wasn’t as clear :/ xxx
