For the past two years, on and off, I have subscribed to various beauty boxes including Latest In Beauty, Glossybox,You Beauty box and Love Me Beauty box. I just love the concept of a box arriving on my doorstep full of beauty sample surprises as it’s just such a treat! To be honest I love subscription boxes in general and have given things like Graze and Bloom and Wild a try too. I really like the sound of some of the subscription boxes I have recently come across such as the Lucky Dip Club and I’m itching to try them!
For the past nine months I have been a loyal Birchbox subscriber as it is the service I have been most impressed with. The September’s box theme is Happy Days which I think is such a cute concept and perfect for September. The box itself is bright pink and turquoise and the lid is adorned with adorable little icons which is right up my street!
My first impression of this month’s contents is fairly positive. I have wanted to try a beauty blender for a long time so now I finally have the chance to see how it compares to applying make up with brushes. I love it when my beauty box contains a Korres product as I have always been very impressed with everything I’ve tried (I’m not being biased I promised), or anything produced in Greece (I’m half Greek and very patriotic), I really like the smell of this shower gel so I’m looking forward to using it. Another sample I am looking forward to trailing is the Agave Healing Oil – although a small sample I think I will be able to use this oil a fair few times as you only need a small amount each time it is applied.
After inspecting my insert I realised that my Modelco Lip Lacquer was missing from my box which was a bit disappointing. I emailed Birchbox Support and within hours I’d had a response and they’ve sent me my sample so hopefully I’ll receive that soon. It’s a bit of shame but it was nice that the team at Birchbox got back to me so quickly.
As you can see I’m already using my photo clip for one of my favourite instant photos from my summer holiday to Skiathos in July. I’m quite tempted to take this into work to brighten up my desk but I’m not sure whether that will really fit with the clear desk policy.
Although I love the September theme I’m not sure how the samples match the concept, Birchbox could have definitely got a bit more creative and included some retro products or some beauty favourites from the past that link to the nostalgic concept.
What did you think of the September Birchbox? What is your favourite beauty box?

I think your box was better than mine with the Beauty Blender but I’m still not totally convinced with the items for the theme! xx
