..and welcome to Hearting, my new little space on the www. It feels like I’ve come full circle, in a way I’m back to the first place I really started to take my website and graphic design hobby seriously. Ever since I can remember I’ve had a website of some sort, in the past few years I’ve had my online portfolio and more recently I decided to start my own blog. Earlier this year I set up a blog but gave up – I think I started with too much momentum and my expectations of how regularly I’d be able to post (and keep it up) were unrealistic. When I couldn’t keep up with posting daily, disappointment set in and as the days of not posting turned into weeks I gave up entirely. My portfolio was also gathering dust – I don’t think I’d made any updates for well over a year even though I had new design projects to add.
So going back to why I’ve come full circle – I used to own the domain hearting.co.uk – it served a completely different purpose when I was 15 but “hearting” still means the exact same thing to me now as it did back then. Put simply, hearting = loving. I’ve been thinking for a while that it would make sense to combine my design portfolio and a blog in one space. This is my fresh start and a chance to combine the things I love (design/ photography/ writing/ sharing) and turn them into something. I’ve really missed blogging and working on an online space of my own regularly. I won’t promise that I’ll be blogging daily but I do hope that I’ll be able to post fresh content at least a couple of times a week.
This blog is going to be somewhat of an online diary and my posts will be full of all the lovely pretty little things that make me smile, from recipes, book reviews, quotes, beauty buys, lists of things I’m currently hearting to mini craft projects and everything in between. If I gather some readers along the way that will be a huge bonus and I’ll always reply to your comments and messages so please don’t be shy.
