I’m planning on sharing my thoughts on a lot more mascaras this year via my Mascara Monday series, so to kick things off I thought I’d share my thoughts on the Yves Saint Laurent Baby Doll Mascara which I’ve been using fairly regularly over the last few months.
Description
“With one stroke our mascara brush and formula magnifies your eyes through the innovative structure of dual-length bristles and intense colour pigment for defined volume with up to for 24 hour wear. The multifaceted brush alternates thick, widely spaced bristles to coat and magnify your lashes, while finer, more closely spaced bristles define eyelashes.”
Packaging
The Yves Saint Laurent Baby Doll Mascara is packaged in a sleek, luxurious gold tube with the words ‘baby doll’ printed in red.
Wand and Formulation
This mascara has a long wand with a slim applicator with short plastic bristles of alternating lengths. The formulation isn’t too dry or too wet, it feels just right.
The Yves Saint Laurent Baby Doll Mascara has quite a strong scent which I actually rather like but might be something to be aware of if you’re not a fan of heavily fragranced products.
Verdict
The Yves Saint Laurent Baby Doll Mascara is definitely a high end mascara with a price tag of £25.50, but I’ve quickly become a big fan of the Yves Saint Laurent Baby Doll Mascara.
It is buildable, volumising, separates my lashes and leaves them longer, curled and fluttery without clumping my lashes together. It also doesn’t leave my lashes crunchy which a lot of mascaras do, instead my lashes are soft to the touch.
I’ve been reaching for this mascara so regularly because I just love how this product accentuates my natural lashes and lasts all day long without crumbling or feeling uncomfortable.
I really wish this mascara was waterproof as it does run if my eyes water but on the plus side it does mean that it is easier to remove at the end of the day.
I think I’ll definitely have to repurchase this mascara in the future (everyone deserves a treat right?) as I reckon I’d miss it if I didn’t have it in my makeup stash.
Have you tried the Yves Saint Laurent Baby Doll Mascara? Do you have any other high end mascara recommendations? I’d love to try some more!
