Having cancelled my My Little Box subscription earlier this month, I decided to re-subscribe to Glossybox. I say re-subscribe because pre-blog, quite a few years ago now, I was a Glossybox subscriber and for a time I did really enjoy my boxes. So here’s to round 2!
The September Glossybox is a collaboration with Red Magazine (with a bold red box to match) for the Editor’s Choice edition. This month’s box contains not 4, not 5 but 6 products which is pretty awesome.
The first full sized product is the Revlon Gel Envy Diamond Top Coat (£7.99) which I’ve actually already had a chance to try this past week and I’m pleasantly surprised by this top coat. My manicure lasted a full 4 days without even the slightest tip wear which is pretty spectacular, it’s also fairly fast drying while adding lovely shine.
The second full sized item is the Gosh Long Lasting Lip Marker in Soft Rose (£8.50). This lip stain adds a hint of pink but unfortunately I’m not much of a fan. First of all it literally feels as if I’m using a marker pen on my lips and second the stain is so faint that it’s a real challenge to apply evenly.
Amazingly, my September box also contained a third full sized product in the form of the Rodial Smokey Eye Pen (£17.00) which I am so looking forward to trying properly. It is said to have rich pigment, long-lasting, gel texture.
I was extremely excited to see a travel sized sample of the Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara. I really like the original Better Than Sex Mascara so I’m really looking forward to trying the waterproof version to see how the formula compares. This mascara promises to thicken and lengthen lashes with a dramatic, buildable result.
I was also lucky enough to receive two face mask sachets. Vitamasques Hydro Face Mask (£7.99) which if applied for half an hour can leave skin deeply moisturised for up to 120 hours which is a pretty bold claim. Finally, I received a 5ml sachet of The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask which is a great way of testing the mask before committing to the full sized product.
Aside from the one dud product in the September Editor’s Choice Glossybox, I’m extremely happy with my first box. I’m particularly impressed by the number of full sized products and also the number of make up items. Not to mention the fact that it contained both mascara and nail polish which are two of my absolute favourite things! I can’t wait to see what Glossybox come up with for the October box.
