Back when I was a teenager going through a bit of an emo phase (fun fact I also had a blue streak in my hair at one point!) I wore black on my nails quite a lot. It’s been such a long time since I’ve warn a black nail polish alone without a glitter topper that I’d forgotten how much I actually like it, there’s something kind of classic about a black polish. Essie Licorice is a stunning jet black that is almost fully opaque with 1 coat, but 2 coats ensure there is no visible nail line. Licorice has the perfect nail polish formula and now that I’ve discovered this amazing black shade I’m sure I’ll be using it a lot with various glitter toppers, especially as we get closer to Christmas.
I decided to pair Essie Licorice with Angelica V.I.P. I think V.I.P is a new release as I’ve not spotted the foil finish nail polishes until recently. V.I.P is a really pretty rose chrome shimmer that contrasts with the black beautifully. Angelica V.I.P applied evenly in 2 coats.
Do you like wearing black nail polish? How do you like to style it?
