For those of you that haven’t read previous posts on My Micellar Cleansing Water series, here is a quick recap. Over the course of 12 weeks I’ll be testing 12 budget (under £5) micellar cleansers. So far I’ve tested 6 of the 12 budget micellar cleansers, I’ve left links to my previous reviews at the bottom of this post incase you’d like to have a read.. For the past week I have been using the Nivea Daily Essentials Sensitive 3 in 1 Micellar Cleansing Water morning and night to remove make up and dirt. Let’s see how this micellar water compares to the cleansers I’ve tested previously.
ABOUT THE PRODUCT
The Nivea Daily Essentials Sensitive 3 in 1 Micellar Cleansing Water costs £3.69 for 200ml of of product. It claims to “cleanse deeply thanks to its extra effective yet mild cleansing complex, moisturise and refresh the skin” whilst being free of parabens, colours and perfume.
THE GOOD
This micellar cleanser is housed in a clear plastic bottle with a drip feed attachment which works perfectly to regulate the amount of product dispersed. I love the simple, light weight packaging.
I need 3-5 large cotton wool pads covered in product to remove my full face of make up and I’ve used about a third of the bottle in 7 days. I think the full bottle would last me between 3 and 4 weeks making this great value for money.
The Nivea Daily Essentials Sensitive 3 in 1 Micellar Cleansing Water works very well to remove make up, including mascara. It’s also beautifully refreshing which I like. It feels very gentle on the skin and doesn’t sting my eyes so I think this micellar water would be suitable for most skin types including those with sensitive skin.
THE BAD
I mostly only have good things to say about this micellar water, the only negatives I can really think to mention is that the Nivea Daily Essentials Sensitive 3 in 1 Micellar Cleansing Water claims to be moisturising but I can’t say that I noticed any moisturising benefits, it just left my skin feeling clean and refreshed.
Although free of perfume this cleanser isn’t completely scent free, it does have a slight hint of a smell.
VERDICT
Overall I’m extremely impressed by the Nivea Daily Essentials Sensitive 3 in 1 Micellar Cleansing Water. It effectively removes my full face of make up, it is gentle on the skin and eyes, it’s packaging is perfect and it is great value for money. The fact it doesn’t leave me feeling moisturised isn’t an issue for me as I would still moisturise afterwards anyway.
In fact I’d go as far as saying that I like this almost as much as my beloved Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water, I just think the larger size bottle is more convenient as I do use it twice daily and it’s formula is slightly better at removing mascara.
Have you used this micellar cleanser? What did you think?
