My Micellar Cleansing Water Test | L’Oreal Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Purify Micellar Solution
For those of you that haven’t read previous posts on My Micellar Cleansing Water series, here is a quick recap. Over the course of 12 weeks I’ll be testing 12 budget (under £5) micellar cleansers. For the past week I have been using the L’Oreal Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Purify Micellar Solution morning and night to remove make up and dirt. Let’s see how this micellar water compares to the cleansers I’ve tested previously.

ABOUT THE PRODUCT

The L’Oreal Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Purify Micellar Solution costs £4.99 for 200ml of product (currently on offer for £3.29 in Superdrug). This micellar water claims to be “a high performance, hypoallergenic cleansing water: so effective, it remove all traces of make up and impurities with no need to rub or rinse. So delicate on the skin, it soothes the most sensitive skin. Skin feels immediately smoother and more toned with no tight or greasy feeling”.

THE GOOD

I need 4-5 large cotton wool pads covered in product to remove my full face of make up and I’ve used just under half of the bottle in 7 days. I think the full bottle would last me between 2-3 weeks – a similar time frame to the Boots Time Delay Daily Cleansing Micellar Cleansing Water which also contains 200ml of product, but costs less per bottle.

The L’Oreal Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Purify Micellar Solution Water works well to remove make up, including mascara. It’s also fairly refreshing which I like. It feels very gentle on the skin and doesn’t sting my eyes so I think this micellar water would be suitable for most skin types.

THE BAD

This micellar cleanser is housed in a square shaped clear plastic bottle which doesn’t fit particularly well in the palm, but that isn’t a huge issue. It comes with a drip feed attachment but compared to all of the other micellar waters tested so far, the drip feed isn’t as controlled, so you have to be extra careful when pouring the cleanser onto the cotton wool pads.

The L’Oreal offering claims to be fragrance free but it does in fact have a subtle musty smell which I don’t particularly enjoy.

VERDICT

The L’Oreal Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Purify Micellar Solution is a gentle but effective micellar water that doesn’t sting my eyes. It’s packaging however lets it down as the drip feed attachment doesn’t do a very good job at controlling the amount of product dispersed. Maybe if L’Oreal improves the packaging I would consider repurchasing, but as it stands I won’t be repurchasing..

Have you used this micellar cleanser? What did you think?

Oh I’ve been wondering if this is a good one or not! I might give it a try if I can find it on offer, although I hate it when packaging lets a product down! xx

it’s my favourite method of removing make up before a second cleanse xx

I always have to make sure the ‘drip’ effect actually does what it says.. Or I waste loads of the product! Great post xx
