Lifestyle extras: French Sole Shoe Bag
My Birchbox arrived quite early on this month which was a welcomed surprise. The June Birchbox is a collaboration with French Sole with the theme of ‘Stepping Outside’ to encourage subscribers to make the most of the British Summer. Birchboxers had the choice of 3 box designs and I chose the watercolour floral option. The design of the box is absolutely stunning – I think I definitely made the best choice especially as the shoe bag has the exact same design!
If I’m honest upon opening the box I was a bit underwhelmed by the samples contained within. Nothing really stood out for me or made me feel excited to try it out which is a shame.
I’m pretty sure I’ve been sent a Cowshed body lotion at some point in the past and found it very nourishing, Gorgeous Cow has a very fragrant floral scent which I rather like so I’m sure I’ll use this at some point in the not too distant future.
I also received Cynthia Rowley’s Lip Stain in Poppy which looks really rather intimidating in the tube but when swatching I discovered that it’s a pretty pinky-coral so I’ll definitely be using this.
Body Scrubs don’t really excite me but as the Premae offering is also gentle enough to be used on the face I’m more likely to use it. I like the fact that it’s suitable for blemishes, decongested pores and dull skin as it sounds like it will target some of my problem areas.
The HIP Shampoo was also one of the products I was least excited by but after having a little read up about it I’m a tad intrigued. This Ultra Shine Shampoo is meant to detoxify and rejuvenate the scalp to promote healthy hair so I’ll be interested to see how it fairs.
The Iris Prima perfume sample is meant to have been inspired by a night at the English National Ballet and has quite a light, sweet and musky scent which is unlike anything I’ve smelt before. I quite like it, I just wish it was a more generous sample.
I won’t be using the Temporary Tattoos but I’ll pass them on to my sister who likes gold and is much more likely to enjoy them.
Oh Birchbox, I like the theme, I adore the box design but other then that I’m disappointed. Partly because nothing has really amazed me and partly because, well I’m not sure, it’s just a bit of an average box. I think if I feel the same next month I’ll be cancelling my subscription..
