I have been making more of a conscious effort to wear something on my lips more regularly. Whenever I’m short on time or can’t be bothered I always seem to sacrifice the lippy; which really doesn’t make sense considering I really enjoy and feel a tad more confident when I’m wearing a lipstick! Seeing as lip products have been on my radar lately I seem to have purchased 5 very budget friendly ones which I thought I should share with you as they’re all very impressive considering they all cost less than £3.00.
Essence Longlasting Lipstick in Cool Nude 05 | £2.30
Nude lipsticks are my absolute favourite as they give a natural, “my lips but better” look. This lipstick is both smooth and pigmented and really quite impressive considering it’s price tag. Cool Nude is a very wearable rose brown that applies beautifully. The only downside with this and the other Essence lipsticks is that the staying power isn’t the greatest and it does need to be reapplied a couple of times throughout the day.
Essence Longlasting Lipstick in Love Me 13 | £2.30
Love Me has a very similar formula to Cool Nude – it’s pigmented and extremely creamy. I picked this shade up as I thought it would be perfect for Spring/ Summer days when I want a bit more colour. Love Me is a pretty soft pink – I’m sure I’ll be reaching for this one a lot.
Essence Lipstick in All About Cupcake 53 | £1.00
All About Cupcake is also a lovely pink toned lipstick but it’s much less pigmented than Love Me. The formula feels more like a tinted lip balm. This one is perfect for touch ups on the go as, being quite sheer, it’s very easy to apply.
NYC Glossy Lip Balm in Caramel Apple 351 | £1.00
I love that this lip balm has a cute little apple design and actually smells of apples. Caramel Apple is a shimmery nude with a subtle hint of colour. This lip balm is lovely and creamy making it very wearable.
W7 Lip Paint in Girlie | £1.00
I don’t usually go for such bright shades but I thought I’d step out of my comfort zone. Girlie is a really bright, highly pigmented Barbie pink. This Lip Paint also has a minty smell which I actually really like. I like to apply this lip paint as more of a tint by applying a little with my ring finger (yep, not really stepping out of my comfort zone after all!).
