4 days and 3 nights in Budapest near the beginning of February to celebrate our 7 year anniversary. A stunning city break. Lots of sightseeing. Lots of walking. Lots of yummy food. Lots of quality time together. River Danube, Chain Bridge, Buda Castle, apple pie, St Stephen’s Basilica, Hungarian Parliament, the most delicious chocolate croissant, more walking, Matthias Church, Fisherman’s Bastion, snow, Hungarian stew with noodles, Citadella, amazing views, Cave Church, Heroes Square, the biggest burger, Vajdahunyad Castle (reminded me of something out of Harry Potter), shoes on the Danube Bank and even more walking, Budapest Zoo, Kürtőskalács (the round sweet cinnamon bread), memories.
Have you every visited Budapest? I loved it.

It did snow for a full day when we were there but otherwise it wasn’t too cold (well similar temperature to hear in the Winter). I loved it xx

Wonderful pics! I have long wanted to visit Budapest and this post makes that desire even stronger. :) What are all of the shoes about?
Ioanna says
Thank you! You should definitely go when you get the chance. The shoes are a memorial for the Jews that were killed in World War II. They were ordered to take off their shoes, and were shot at the edge of the water so that their bodies fell into the river and were carried away. It represents their shoes left behind on the bank (thank you Wikipedia). xx
