Usually when I receive those No7 money off vouchers (I’m sure you know the ones I mean) they get left at the bottom of my bag until I’ve realised they’ve expired and bin them. This time however I decided to purchase the No7 Midnight Lash Mascara that retails at £13.50 (with my £3 off voucher I paid £10.50). I find it very hard to resist testing out a new mascara, especially when there is money off involved.
The Midnight Lash Mascara comes in absolutely stunning packaging. It has a beautiful glitter design with lots of silver glitter particles at the bottom that become more sparse further up. The mascara bottle feels very premium without being heavy (have you tried Too Faced’s Better Than Sex Mascara? now that’s a heavy bottle).
Midnight Lash is meant to provide spectacular volume and is described as No7’s “blackest ever mascara”. I have been using this mascara for a good few weeks now and I have found that it is easy to apply and it does leave lashes an intense black which I really like. It also lasts all day without flaking or smudging which is something I look for in a mascara. The wand has a rather unusual shape, it is shaped so that it is larger in the middle and smaller towards the edges which makes it easier to coat the smaller lashes at the corners of your lashline. Midnight Lash lifts, lengthens and separates eyelashes beautifully thus providing definition to the lashes and really opening the eyes. However it doesn’t do much in the way of volume, and in fact if you add too many coats of mascara, the lashes start to clump together which is disappointing considering it’s claim to provide “spectacular volume”.
If you are looking for a mascara that will give you that false lash effect, this isn’t it, however, it’s great at lengthening, defining and separating to provide you with a my-lashes-but-better, natural look.
Will you be trying the No7 Midnight Lash Mascara?
