Top Coat | Rimmel Matte Finish Top Coat
I’m really enjoying opening a new window to discover a surprise mini paint pot each day and I’m going to miss my Ciate Mini Mani Month come January, but I don’t want to think about that yet! On the the 2nd of December I had the pleasure of opening Ciate Boudoir. Boudoir is a stunning tomato red. I say tomato because it has an orange tone. This is the first time I have used a Ciate mini paint pot and can happily report that application isn’t affected by the smaller packaging and the brush is just as easy to use. Two coats of Ciate Boudoir gave me an almost opaque finish – I later realised that the nail line is visible in certain lights however it’s such a bright and vibrant shade that I don’t think this matters.
For a change I thought I’d apply the Rimmel Matte Finish Top Coat. I’ve had this top coat for a year or two now but haven’t used it in ages so thought it was time to dust away the cobwebs. I found I had to apply 2 coats of this top coat to get the desired matte effect, I don’t know whether that is because it has been sitting there for a while and hadn’t mixed properly but I don’t remember having to use two coats in the past. 2 coats gave me a lovely velvety matte effect that I think works really well with Boudoir. I love how silky my nails feel when using this top coat.
