Nails #94 | Barry M Gelly Nail Paint Blue Jade
Base Coat | OPI Nail Envy
Colour | Barry M Blue Jade
Top Coat | Essie Good To Go Top Coat

I’m going to have to do something extra special for my 100th nail polish post, aren’t I? At least I’ve got a bit of time to come up with something.

This week I’m wearing the newly released Barry M Gelly Nail Paint Blue Jade. I’ve noticed that the Gelly shades usually have a food themed name so I was a bit surprised with the naming, especially as I associate jade blue shades with deep turquoise.

I would describe Barry M Gelly Nail Paint Blue Jade as more of a muted deep blue. Nonetheless it’s a really beautiful shade and caught my eye as soon as I saw it in store. I don’t think my photograph does it justice as it looks very dark in some lights and much brighter in others, it’s a really very unusual, eye catching blue.

In all honesty the Gelly collection isn’t my favourite as a lot of shades are a little too thick for easy application but the opacity is phenomenal and you can often get away with just 1 coat so I can live with it, especially as they’re so purse friendly.

Barry M Blue Jade falls in the category of having a slightly too thick formula so I had to be careful not to overload my brush when applying so it wouldn’t spread all over my nail bed. I probably could have applied just the 1 coat but I’m so used to 2 that I just kept applying on auto pilot.

Nails #93 | Disney nails using Essie Funny Face, Essence Wild White Ways and Barry M Holographic Lights in preparation for my trip to Disneyland Paris
Base Coat | OPI Nail Envy
Colour | Essie Funny Face, Essence Wild White Ways and Barry M Holographic Lights
Top Coat | Essie Good To Go Top Coat

As this blog post goes live I’ll be mid-way through a trip to Disneyland Paris. I was super organised this time and managed to schedule blog posts for while I’m away (winning!).

I thought I’d use my trip to Disneyland Paris as an excuse for some Disney themed nails, I kept it quite simple because polka dots are about as far as my nail art talents go and opted for a girly pink, white and silver colour scheme.

I used three shades for this look, Essie Funny Face, a mouthwatering hot pink that applied perfectly in 2 coats, Essence Wild White Ways, a pure white that applies a little unevenly in 2 coats so you have to be a bit careful and Barry M Holographic Lights, a breathtaking rainbow holographic that applies well in 3 coats.

I love how this polka dot mani turned out, it’s just so fun and perfect for a trip to Disneyland. Barry M Holographic Lights is especially beautiful, it might just be my favourite nail polish of 2017 so far!

What do you think of my polka dot mani?

Nails #92 | Essie Chocolate Cakes and Barry M Copper Mine
Base Coat | OPI Nail Envy
Colour | Essie Chocolate Cakes and Barry M Copper Mine
Top Coat | Essie Good To Go Top Coat

The leaves are starting to turn all shades of red, the mornings are getting cooler and the evenings are getting darker, a sure sign that Autumn is officially here and I’m totally ready to embrace it. In fact I’m so ready for it that the Autumn nail polish shades are out in full force this week.

I opted for Essie Chocolate Cakes, a dreamy dark chocolate brown with red undertones and Barry M Copper Mine, a stunning rusty metallic copper. Both polishes applied well in 2 coats – Barry M and Essie rarely let me down. I love a dark and metallic shade contrast mani and this one works so well, don’t you think?
